An email subscriber list is the best way to get traffic on the websites for free. According to a recent survey , people check their email app in their phone more than any other app. So, it is just a cool and healthy technique to built email list early for your WordPress blog. Email list and Email subscriber list plugin don’t generally come for free. There are ample plugins like Aweber, Get Response, Sendy but to start up and configure the mailing list plugins can be cumbersome and complex sometimes.
According to me , the best duo of plugin and mailing list comes from MailMunch and Mailchimp and its completely free. Its good for start up bloggers. Though there are some premium themes and also paid subscriptions for the same. You can configure MailMunch with Mailchimp without a lot of difficulty. As, AddictedBlogging is a start up blog it is now configured with the same.
The plugin used here to work them together is MailChimp Forms by MailMunch , you can download and install in your WordPress site from here. Configuration of this plugin is easy. After installing the plugin you just have to go to the plugins tab, locate the plugin and go to the settings tab. For the first use add new form.
Select the template you want to use.
Add a theme. Free version contain only two themes , but its better to have something than nothing.
Click on create form and then click save and continue choosing and configuring every field in the form. At the last step , integrate you have to provide the api key that you have obtained from mailchimp and login to your account. Then select the active list and providing your email is necessary. After you have the configured the form the form is ready to use. It will be automatically displayed in your website. You can also integrate your form anywhere you want via its built in widgets.
Its a good choice to use this plugin for building email subscribers for start up blogs. But as the subscriber count will increase i will advice to use Optinmonster or Aweber for email marketing and building email list.
